Albert Priest Charles, P.G.M.
1884-1886
Shortly after moving into its new Temple, the Lodge added a new member, Br. Albert Priest Charles, who was to advance the stature of Freemasonry. Br. Charles, initiated in 1869, advanced rapidly in the Craft, served as Worshipful Master of Jackson Lodge #146 in 1871, 1872, 1874, 1878, and 1879; and was Grand Master of Indiana from 1884-1886. He is the only member of Jackson Lodge #146 to this point who has served Indiana Masonry as its Grand Master, reflecting great credit on Jackson Lodge #146 in his service.
Br. Charles reflected great credit on Jackson Lodge #146 in another capacity, as well. Br. Charles was an attorney whose knowledge of Masonic Law was considerable. He was consulted frequently by the Grand Lodge on matters of Masonic Jurisprudence over a ten-year period. He complied, indexed, and cataloged all of the Grand Lodge laws, rules, and decisions, which he maintained in his private library. Upon his death, in 1889, these were given to the Grand Lodge with the consent of his widow and formed the genesis for the Indiana Blue Book of Masonic Law, which has gone through several revisions and which exists today.

Jennifer Stogdill

elected by my fellow sisters to the position of Worthy Advisor in 1994 , and
again in 1996. I served in the Grand Choir and as a Grand Page in 1993. I was
appointed Grand Representative to North Carolina in 1994 and had the privilage
of attending North Carolina's Grand Session. It was in June of 1995 that I was
appointed to my first Grand office. I had the privilege of serving as Grand Love

I had 2 service projects. The first being to raise money for needed repairs to the Chateau in Edinburgh. The second being close to my heart. I set out to raise money for St. Jude Children's Hospital for cancer research. This was done in loving memory of my grandfather, Carl Stogdill, who lost his fight with cancer 7 years ago. Both projects were very successful
We held 3 Schools of Instruction in 1999. We held a Christmas pageant for the residents of the Masonic home and caroled through the hospital.
I had the pleasure of attending Sister Jenny Dixon's installation on May 1, where she was elected Worthy Grand Matron of Indiana Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. It seemed as if the "Jennys" were taking over! It was great to see her accomplish her goal. May 15th brought me to the opening ceremonies of Grand Lodge.
I had the pleasure of attending several Rainbow functions throughout the state, including regular meetings, installations, initiations and inspections.
I had the great honor of serving as Acting Supreme Service at the 2000 Supreme Session held in Buffalo, New York.
My year and my Rainbow journey ended June 30th, 2000 when I received my Majority pin at the 60th Grand Session.
I have continued to serve Rainbow by being a Grand Helper for District 13, serving as Mother Advisor during 2000 and as a member of Seymour Eastern Star No. 134.
I just want to thank Jackson Lodge once again for allowing me this wonderful opportunity. Without them, my year would not have been possible.
