The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls (IORG)
is a youth group for girls between the ages of 5 and 11 for a Pledge Sister and
11 to 20 for Rainbow Girls. It is only affiliated with the Masonic Lodges, Order
of the Eastern Star Chapters, and Courts of Amaranth. Many groups and
organizations use the name of Rainbow in their title or organizational name. We
are NOT associated with any other group than the three listed above.
Within each Grand Assembly (State or Country) there
are local groups (Assemblies) in various towns. The girls learn about charity,
hope and service through their involvement and support with various projects,
such as Shriners Hospital for Children, The Ronald McDonald House at Riley’s
Children’s Hospital, The Diabetes Foundation, and the Scottish Rite Learning
Centers to name a few.
The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls first
Assembly was formed on April 6, 1922 in McAlester, Oklahoma (which is the home
of our Supreme Assembly).
Today The International Order of the Rainbow for
Girls has assemblies in 46 states in the United States in addition to assemblies
in many other countries. Currently the states that do not have assemblies are:
South Dakota, Delaware, Utah, and Wyoming.
The countries outside the United States that DO have assemblies include: Aruba, Australia (both Queensland and New South Wales), Brazil, Bolivia, Canada, Italy, Germany, Japan, Panama, and Philippines/Guam.
I promise to dedicate myself to a life of love and service so that on my eleventh birthday or during my eleventh year, I will be ready to receive my petition for membership in the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.
This Rainbow Assembly acknowledges allegiance to the Supreme Assembly, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, whose seat of authority is in McAlester, OK. Our Founder was Reverend W. Mark Sexson, and Mrs. Dorothy Brillhart, Fl. USA is Supreme Worthy Advisor.
Seymour Assembly No. 58 Rainbow For Girls
Mrs. Kenneth (Opal) Fosbrink as Worthy Matron of Seymour Eastern Star Chapter No.134, established a Rainbow Assembly as her Worthy Matron's project. Seymour Assembly No.58 was instituted July 28, 1948 and thirty-seven (37) girls were initiated at Columbus Assembly. The assembly was constituted and received it's full charter on February 14,1949, by Hazel Thompson Coats, Supreme Inspector and Supreme Patriotism.
